While my brother was visiting me from Holland for my wedding we drove up to Bellingham to spend a couple days on my mom’s boat Manu’O’Ku.  In anticipation of my upcoming RAW artist’s showcase debut I wanted to get a new piece done.  Since it was Monday and the show was on Thursday my only option was to paint on the boat!  The painting I came up with definitely has the energy of the ocean in it.  I also see a ship in it which I imagined would be called ‘Break Free’.  The piece is done in water-soluble pastel crayons, metallic watercolor, Pitt artist pen and collage.  This piece feels different from most of the work I have done to date which is interesting considering all the transitions and changes currently taking place in my life 🙂
