In anticipation of an upcoming solo show in September I have been working on a body of work called ‘Arch-Ark-achina’.  One of the components accompanying this body of work will be an artist’s book made by hand and filled with research, sketches, ideas, the work process and more.  The main body of work will consist of a series of paintings, and some 3D elements such as assemblage pieces, sculptures or masks.  I’d also like to possibly collaborate with other artists and have a performance piece accompanying the show.  However this remains to be seen and decided as the work progresses.  The theme of this body of work combines or borrows elements of the visual and philosophical components of the Kachina form of Hopi spirituality as well as psychological and cultural archetypes across different cultures.  Finally it incorporates the sciences as the ecological/biological/elemental composition of life will be made visual.  The general theme at this point could be said to ‘make visible the invisible’; the psychological/cultural/archetypal/elemental aspects of life.  The aim of this work is to share with the viewer a sense of the interconnections and relationships between the sciences, psychology, and cultural anthropology as well as a visualization of the building blocks of life.  In wandering through the narrative of this work the viewer has an opportunity to visualize components of life that are usually invisible.Make Visible the Invisible
